Şirin Soysal
Şirin Soysal, whom music critic Murat Beşer defined as “her songs sound like the soundtack of a movie that stars Edit Piaf, Billie Holiday and UteLemper”, released three albums since 2011 for which she wrote her own lyrics and made her own compositions in chanson, cabaret and art rock genres. She started performing Edith Piaf and Brech/Weill songs. And as the theatre critic Robert Schild says, she’s the first artist to perform Brecht/Weill songs in German since Zeliha Berksoy.
